Probably the simplest Baxandall I've ever seen:


Caveats - the tone caps will need tweaking to make it more useful for guitar/bass (although it works as-is), and with a 9 volt supply, you may have to pad the input to avoid clipping at maximum boost.

Thanks to Jay Doyle, Joe Davisson, et al, for reminding me that discrete components are just as much fun as opamps!
