could someone reccommend some switched stereo jacks? a couple of good brands? where to get them? what to look for as far types? possibly some links? i want to use it to add an expression pedal jack to bypass a control on an effect. any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. any other information is welcome as well.

i know how to wire it (searched it and found posts) and everything i just don't know which ones are quality. i went to mouser and can't make heads or tails on which would be good to get. there are several different types offered at mouser but i don't know which would do the job for an expression pedal add on. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I keep forgetting, so I finally took better notes on what I was ordering and what they looked like when I got them...so here are the ones I got from Mouser, with Mouser part numbers and unit prices:

550-22302   Stereo Jack Switched, Chrome   1.06
550-20301   Stereo Jack Switched, full thread   0.60
550-25382   Stereo Jack Switched, plain   0.54

The Chrome one is the one that's just like Dunlop wahs use, with the chrome nut that threads INTO the jack.  The other two have outer threads, plastic, and the "full" threaded one just has a longer threaded section.

To me, they all seem every bit as good as the jacks actually in Dunlops, and I've had good luck where I've used them up to this point.

Cheers!

The Mouser jacks are made by Neutrik and they are good quality.

Argh aron. You put em up right after my delivary. I would have wanted a couple.

Ah well.

Great job with everything in your store so far. I'm amazed how fast they get delivered to me halfway across the world.  ;D

Oh, and I forgot to mention -- I added an expression pedal to my Ugly Face with one of these switched stereo jacks -- worked great.  I used the long-threaded one, not the chrome.  Wires from the board to one half of the jack, and wires on the other half to a pot -- that way, when there isn't a cord plugged in, the pot controls the pedal (in this case, the frequency).  So I'm guessing if you need three conductors, get the stereo switched, if you only need 2, you could probably just use the mono.  Then just wire up a gutted wah shell with a wah pot and TADA, expression pedal.

Cheers!

the ugly face add on is exactly what i'm looking for for mine. i wanted the pot on the pedal to work when the expression pedal wasn't plugged in and when the expression pedal was plugged in the pot on the pedal would be bypassed. thanks again for all the help everyone. :icon_mrgreen:
