I don't think I'd pay that much for one, but as mini-amps go it has some very nice and sensible features.  I tip my hat to DOD for this one:
a) cast aluminum case - does a ncie job of holding up under abuse and provides bigger space for lower resonance
b) two speakers for a little more output level due to bigger speaker cone area plus lower impedance (assuming these were wired in parallel)
c) use of a sextet of AAs instead of those cheezy and easily drained 9v batteries

About 8-10 years ago, I made a small practice amp in a similar case - a Hammond 1590D - with a 4" speaker and an 8-pack of AAs and that thing was surprisingly loud for a 386-based amp.  DOD did well to use a similar approach. :icon_wink:

I saw that auction, too. Decided to pass - didn't think it had any resale. Maybe I was wrong (again).

Mark,

This one looks like the speakers are wired in series. And they are different sizes. I wonder if they were all like that.

Man, I'd kill for that thing -were it working!

I got the 610 10-band EQ (sounds very musical)
670 Flanger
680 Delay (currently in intensive care @ Dirk_Hendrik's place; it came without the rare SAD4096, so he's modding it to accept a Panasonic BBD chip)
690 Chorus.

I think that pedal would make the set "complete" (since the 640 is the predecessor of the 670 Flanger and the 660 is a 6-band EQ; already got the EQ).
Were there ever 620 and 630 pedals in that serie though?  ???
