I'm new to this forum. I'm planning to buy or preferrably build a simple tip-to-ground switch (like the BOSS FS-5L) to enable Reverb switching on my new-to-me Mesa Boogie Mark IV. A similar switch may also control the SimulClass selection. The circuitry seems straightforward enough, even if it is my first project. One thing that I have not been able to discover is an enclosure similar to the Mark IV's FU-3 footswitch. This enclosure features a foot-friendly sloped face.

Has anyone discoverd a source for enclosures like this?

Thanks in advance,

QuoteI saw a post recently about sloped enclosures.  Try searchin for it i found this thread http://www.elixant.com/~stompbox/smfforum/index.php?topic=1070.0

Thanks! When I first looked at the Hammond site, I went down the wrong half. Now, on the right hand side, I've found the spirit of what I'm looking for: the 10 degree sloped front aluminum box (part#1456FE1BKBU). I've got a sheet metal shop up the road from my house, but they can't beat the Digi-Key prices.

Two more design elements are trip-free edges and accessibility.

I can see from the Hammond web page (http://www.hammondmfg.com/dwg16.htm#10degree) that the end-caps have a lip above the box's surface. That's a "trip edge". I can easily replace these end-caps with wood blocks, a la Mesa Boogie FU-3. (What a surprise when I discovered that!)

As for accessibility, perhaps people here can comment on the unseen bottom of the sheet metal boxes like these. Are they a two-peice design with a removable bottom panel that allows access to the contents?

Thanks for your feedback! Here's my rig thus far: http://users.adelphia.net/~k2a/images/guitars.png.
