high impedance volume pedal

i'm looking for a really high impedance volume pedal to double as a buffer for my effects chain and a volume pedal, whats your recomendations?

Stick a simple noniverting buffer using a bifet op-amp in there and you can stick just about any volume pot value after it.

Yeah. Larry Carlton has a FET preamp in his Sho-Bud. I wonder if they changed the pot value too?

i figure this sort of pedal is best left to the experts, i don't fancy my chances at making a decent enclosure.
what's the best one on the market?
