Found a really cool little company on ebay that has launched a fully analog synth on a single board for $99. Being an old synth buff from back in the eighties, I'm wondering--could this be worked into some kind of interesting effect? Not the typical MIDI-CV controller, but some type of box that time-sequences the analog synth. Already been done? Completely stupid? Mildly interesting?

It's Cano, not Dano.  Howard Cano has been designing neat stuff for decades.  If you look on my site, you'll see his "Alpha Drum" article/project that appeared in Electronic Musician in the mid-80's.  It was an 8-bit sampled drum sound unit, like the E-H triggered drum modules of the time, except you'd burn your own sample EPROMs.

Holy cow! Two screw-ups in one post!

First the link (directly to the Yahoo store with loads more info):

Second, I'm "dano"-- wasn't trying to refer to Mr. Cano.

Sorry for any confusion!

No problem.  My fault.  I was reading the thread on the run, and the similarity between Dano and Cano....well, ripe for error. :icon_redface:

All errors of every type aside,  Howard Cano has street cred.  Worth looking into.

Olathe, KS - wow, my sis lives there.  Bellyflop, what is that, like a 10-15 min drive for you?  Getcha one of those floor keyboards like in the movie 'Big' and you can hop out your own bassline while you jam  :)

Sweet!  Or how about butchering an old Nintendo "power pad"?
