Hi, I am about to build the Boutique Bender from GGG but was wondering about the 500k trimpot, the layout shows two legs of the trim connected, what i was wondering was what happens to the third leg,is it snipped off or bent up out of the way or should it be connected.
As a relative beginner i`m not sure and do not want to mess things up by getting it wrong, has anybody built one or know what the right way is,thanks Crawf.

Please dont quote me on it but I reckon its an error and all 3 should be used but what do I know lol

burnt fingers

It looks like the third lug on the scematic is not connected to anything.  I wold say clip the leg off.

Hi ,thanks for replying, I tried the pedal and i got very little sound(very quiet) from it but noticed the controls were working ok, i dont have three matched transistors so would that result in the horrible distorted sound i got? and also i presume the bands on the diode(two black bands) represent the way it is on the layout(red band) what i mean is if i had fitted the diode the wrong way round would i hear anything at all?i have now ordered 3 matched GE transistors from Smallbear so hopefully that will help.Any thoughts anyone? thanks again Crawf.

i think it can have to do with the electronic software. u put in a trimpot and it shows three legs on pcb, but only two is needed for this purpose.

if u use adapter!? set trimpot and meassure it and replace it with a resistor if u like.
