How to reduce Wah output?

Hi, I've just finished building a wah pedal from scratch and I'm encountering some minor tweking problem.

Here is the PCB layout


As I depress the pedal I get a really loud output. I tried using the 10K pot to lower the output but I'm still getting a loud sound.

Could the led be too bright and causing a high resistance over the LDR and causing this?
I getting some sound saturation.

This project was supposed to have 1uF 50V caps but I used a 1uF 63V cap instead I could't find that one. Could this be a problem too?
