Take a look at some of the changed traces here:  http://psionicmedia.net/lyle/music/boogey.zip

Nothing major (except that one misplaced pad) but a couple of things have been simplified.

thanks lyle, i caught the pad error after i started checking the layout.

heres what i got so far, i threw together a bsiab2 layout on the bottom. also im working on a small layout for LED's so i can mount them on a small board first then into the enclosure.

and, im thinkin about putting these in an enclosure larger than the 'BB' size box...but not too much bigger...and something slanted, but all the slanted enclosures ive seen are $20+....and ideas anyone?

I'm bumping this thread because I'm hoping that more people will be interested in it. I would love if tonepad/ggg/runoffgroove had these expresspcb layouts you could order. I just spent hours on that CE-2 and it's a mess and doesn't work, isn't going to work, has traces lifted, etc. Can we maybe get permission from y'all to allow volunteers to make expresspcb files for your layouts? -ph

Why not just buy the boards from Tonepad or GGG?

Supporting the sites that offer these layouts is a good idea.

As you have found out it takes a long time to make a good working layout.

i think you misunderstood what Tryingtodo is saying.

he's bought layouts from tonepad and ggg but after working on them for hours they become useless and the pads lift and get all messy and unorganized.

i completely understand where hes coming from because im verrrry anal about my layout and the pedals i make. but it seems like everyone else is comfortable with using the rts curcuit boards from tonepad and ggg so it will be a hard concept to get across...

I understand. However PCB's arent made to be soldered and desoldered over and over again. Use sockets for key components if you are going to experiment or use a breadboard, thats what its for. Experimenting before committing to a PCB.

Alot has to be said for learning to etch your own boards too. If you damage your PCB beyond repair you can always etch a new one fairly easily.

Ok, one thing. I've never bought boards from tonepad or GGG. On tonepad they have a warning that you aren't even going to get them in a timely fashion. It's like they don't want to sell them. Also, I'm just going to get the same board I burn myself. I guess you haven't dealt with a real greenie with plated through holes board. I have bought literally hundreds form buildyourownclone.com and have even built a few.  For me it's not about the money or even the pedal itself. It's taking a couple hours and making something that works. With home built boards that's almost impossible. You always have some gaps in the PNP when I do it so you have to fudge soemthing. Maybe the boards from tonepad are better and easier but it won't be like the greeenies. The tonepad layouts themselves are a nightmare to even follow because you don't have the value on the layout. Try one of the buildyourownclone boards and you won't want to go back ever. And besides, what's to say tonepad and GGG even want to make boards. Sounds to me like they don't. And why not sell greenies?? They could take an advance order to sell off a large portion of the minimum they'd have to buy (I'll take at least ten of each myself) and have them on hand. No etching, no drilling (a bigger pain) and no nightmare for those of us who aren't dainty solderers. -ph
