Hi to everybody, new member, been reading and learning, was gonna wait ´till i finished my first pedal to post (Rosscomp), BUT,...
I built the tone god switch that´s in the "Wicked_Switch_Momen_Invert" zip file, it says in the layout to use 40106 IC, but when I was going to put it in the socket, I noticed the PCB is for a 16 pin IC, and the 40106 has 14!!!!! What the hell????
The only IC mentioned in the article that has 16 pins is the 4049... is that PCB for that one??? Should i try that one? I don´t want to lose all the etching etc. work... :icon_rolleyes:

Thanks

P.D: how many of you have used these switches? Experiences?

Sorry to say this but I think you downloaded the wrong package. In the downloads area the package you downloaded is intended for standard inverters meaning the 4049 and similar. There is another momentary inverter package for the 40106 called "Wicked_Switch_Momen_Invert_40106" which is laid out for the 14-pin 40106. I thought the download chart made it clear enough.

The two different packages were added after the article was written hence why there is no mention. I did forget to relabel the IC on the layout because it was a quick job to answer a request.

You can either grab some 4049s and you use your board or etch a new one using the 40106 board. Sorry about that.

OK, So I´ll have to grab some 4049´s... I wanted to get it working tonight... :icon_rolleyes: there´s always tomorrow...
Thanks Tone God for making the switches available to all of us who can´t use a DPDT, I can´t get them in my country (Argentina) for a reasonable price.
So, what to do with the six 40106´s that i bought? guess I´ll have to build more "cacharros" (read noisy ugly things!) ;D
(edit) I read somewhere that you have some additions to make to the switches articles... Improvements? New schems? Mods? We´re waiting... :icon_wink:

Hey no problem. I actually get alot reports from folks in your part of the world. It makes me very happy to see people getting a chance to learn and build stuff on their own. :)

Other then the Wicked Switches the only other thing I have that uses 40106s is a version of The Vanishing Point layout that I haven't posted yet. I do have MANY other things that I want to post and pretty much everything that is already there I want to update with new stuff. It just the lack of time I have.

Right now what little time I have is dedicated to getting the uC stuff up and going. After that settles down I will probably get going on updates and new articles.
