ok, so here goes
someone please help!!

I discovered I had wired my input jack incorrectly and my battery was always on
fixed that so I thought I would check the bias on the 3rd tranny of my tonebender using vero layout in gallery
can't remember who provided it but thanks
found out I had my trimmer pot wired wrong
fixed that !
everything going great so figured I would clean up the wiring
shortened the wires and voila !!!!!

hardly any sound   :icon_frown: :icon_frown:

I checked and trippled checked read the geofex re: fuzz face
looked up the schems on fuzz central

but alas
I can not get anymore than -0.4 volts on the second transistor of my tonebender
third tranny is dead on -4.5 first tranny is -8.6 volts but second tranny    no bueno  :icon_confused:

I tried different tranny's thinking I had fried one but no good

the effect works
but the sound is very faint

I am at a loss
some one please help

please .....................................

I am using PNP trannys from small bear elec
using the vero layout from the gallery

wasssupppp ????

Dan............. :'( :'( :'(

by the way the voltages are taken off of the collector

What is the voltage on both sides of the resistor before Q2's collector?
Shine On !!!

dansamp

thanks for asking

I am using the solasound version and the resistor is a 100k.  at the top I have battery voltage at -9.62 at the side connected to the collector it reads -.398
if i remove Q2 I get -1.231 voltages at the the collector side of the socket
that would be the correct voltage but no matter what tranny I use there it drops to less than -.5 volts

again thanks for you input
I was beginning to think my posts were invisible ! :o

Like I tell everyone, get a nice clean schematic, and start through your circuit with a highlighter. Whatever is connected you'll highlight on the schematic, until you find out what you left off, or miswired. It sounds like you may have broken some solder loose on one of the wires coming off the board if it was working before you decided to dress the wires. Either that, or you have bad solder connections where you've resoldered back to the switches, jacks, etc in the housing.
