9 volts

I''ve just bought a secondhand 1970's electro harmonix effect  from USA. It has a (110v) american  plug on it, do i need a stop down 240v to 110v converter or simply a plug/adapter to run it in Australia (240v). Does  the transformer handle both voltages.
Much appreciate any feedback. Obviously don't want to blow it.

YOU absolutely ***MUST*** use a stepdown transformer.
The smallest Jaycar one will do. MF1091 $49.95 p 209 their current catalog.
I have seen totally (yes TOTALLY) destroyed EH gear that was plugged straight into 230V.

Thanks for the advice,I'll get one immediately.
