new poster - Boutique Fuzz build

The ggg Boutique Fuzz NPN negative ground is my 4th pedal build (the first 3 were byoc ae trems)
I deviated from the schematic to add a 4pdt toggle switch going between pairs of ac127 & bc108 and I used a 2k log pot for the fuzz instead of 1k log. 
It all works well except for a dead zone on the fuzz pot, it takes a 1/4 tone to get anything to work, before that the box is dead. The internal trimmer doesn't adjust this and changing the pot to 1k had little to no effect.  It doesn't bother me but I was wondering if there was a fix or if this is typical of this build.
