So my buddy gave me his dead MM-4 telling me how at one show it started smoking and caught on fire.  The funny thing is it still works- it just smokes after its been on for a few minutes.  He finished the tour like that and got a replacement but a backup pedal is always nice.  So I open it up and the whole thing looks pretty good except the inductor in the power supply is melted and just about dead.  Does anyone have a schematic (unlikely) or any info on that part specifically?  Thanks for any input!

I'm afraid I can't really help you out with that one, though it sounds like somethings shorted, perhaps one of the psu bypass caps or current limiting resistors.
I remember when the MM-4 was considered taboo around here, anyone remember Line666???

I'm not sure if its a short just becuase the pedal still working.  I'm hoping its just a faulty inductor, but odds are something is drawing too much power through it.  If I can get the specs I can try to replace it and see where that leaves me.
