Forget the Silver Mod, it takes to much time to modify a real TS to exact silver specs (1 hour or more). Instead, build a TS 808/9-copy with high grade parts, w or w/o the buffers, the AMZ mods and true bypass on perf board or use a vero layout from the gallery. You will have much more fun with the copy.

agreed .... that's what I did, then modded the crap outa my copy! ...Lotsa fun! ... ended up ditching my TS808 clone and TS808 re-issue in favor of my new M.O.D pedal ;)

plus the amz screamer is better than ts-808?

I guess a better question is this: Why do you want to do the silver mod? Is it because you've heard it, played it, and you feel it works best for your needs? If so, I would contact Analogmike. He's a good guy and he would probably point you in a direction of how to do the mod.

If you are just going off of hear-say, I would say that there are MANY other overdrive alternatives that would work just as well or better if you are going to build or modify something.

JMHO! :)

Take care,
