Anyone has expirience with this type of caps for stompboxes. In local stores all they have are those and ceramic. I've been ordering poly film caps from Germany or USA, but if those are decent I should bother. They look like this

And it appears they all have different ones, yellow, dark yellow with logo "K", blue ones etc.
Are those any good?

Those ones will work, don't be afraid to use them.

I think they are metalized poliester, I use some similar but in blue color.

Those are "box" caps. Film I believe. They will work well.

You may run into problems if you are not using your own pcb layouts or perfing the circuit. The leads are very short and tend to be spaced significantly wider than other caps. The leads on these caps are also generally thicker and the holes on pre-drilled boards may need to be widened.

Actually, spacing is 5mm like any other caps and leads aren't thicker than other's, so no problem there. It depends on menufacturer, some leads are only 5mm long, some are up to 2cm. Holes are not a problem, I'm drilling them myself (what a pain in the butt) with 1mm bit
Thanks

That works out then.  I've had to solder wire leads to them  to make them fit before I was making my own boards.

I had problems with WIMA foil caps, I used 1uF instead of electros for Rebote project. They are spaced 5mm with very short leads and board is made for 2.5mm spacing...it was pain in the butt :)

I've been using ordinary ceramic and poly and they sound great. Many times I use polys to replace electros in the range 1uf to 10uf to avoid electros aging issues. My fuzz face have a 2.2uf poly at the input and five 4.7uf polys instead of the 22uf. The board is really big :)

Many people say that different caps have different sound. To the day I can not say if the tonal change on my mxr+ when using a 473 ceramic or poly at opamp pin 3 is due to tolerance differences, ie deviations from 473,  or to internal caps properties, ie construction, materials, dielectric, etc.
