do any of you guys know of a good evnvelope follower that would sweep up and down at the same time?

Mark Hammer

Do you mean one that is capable of sweeping in one direction OR the other (like the Mutron) or one that provides two opposite outputs?

Given your interest in the Gargletron, it is possible you simply want to have one filter move up while another moves down.  IIRC, someone posted something a while back about using a bipolar transistor for tuning one filter stage, and a PFET or something for tuning the second filter.  The two devices would have opposite reactions to the same envelope follower output.

So, while a dual-output follower would allow for considerable flexibility in driving a bunch of things using the same type of control element, if you have two differrent control elements that respond in opposite fashion to the same signal, you can accomplish the same thing.

You can accomplish the same thing using a standard envelope follower into one NPN and one PNP transistor in parallel, powering 2 optocouplers.
