Where can I purchase the clear plastic like what's found in the Boss pedals to prevent grounding problems?

Save your money for something else, you can use any plastic foil, piece of plastic, cardboard, wood :)

I know where to get the plastic liners
Any 2 liter soda bottle will give you enough to make 4 of them, and they are free.

Yeah, or even better, if there are plastic beer bottles in your country (2lit. bottles are hit around here) get one of it. You get beer and plastic, haw bout that :)

I'll make this a little clearer.  Does anyone know of a firm that professionally manufactures the clear plastic specifically for the purpose of preventing grounding problems like what is found in the boss pedals and where they can be purchased?

Beer in a plastic bottle!! :icon_eek: Doesn't sound good...I like my beer in a glass bottle, and really don't even care for the can.

Tom, good to see ya on here!
To answer your question, I don't know...I would imagine that boss just stamps out the plastic from a roll instead of outsourcing it. I'm purely speculating though.

hEY bRIAN,
Good to hear from you man.  You could be right.  I thought maybe someone knew where they were selling it.

I'm looking forward to your amplifier modification book coming out!

Maybe guys at boss drink beer like nuts :)
I don't think you'll find company that builds "plastic to prevent grounding problems", but any company that works with plastic or foils can do that for you. Maybe even very thin plexi.
Btw, I don't like beer in plastic bottles because when you reach to the middle of 2L bottle beer gets little warmer and looses sparkle, you need to drink it very fast :) But I think it sells very good around here in Serbia.

True! Beer in plastic always tastes 'flat' to me. Beer in aluminum can tastes aluminum-y ( :icon_rolleyes: :icon_lol: I'm sure that's not a word, but you know what I mean! hehe! )

Head over to staples and get some clear overhead transparencies.  Cut to size and bingo, there you have it.  Lately I've been using the cardboard from the packages of caps I've needed to pick up from Radio Shack....little things here and there that don't warrant a big order.

And beer HAS to be in a COLD bottle or FROSTY class.  :D

Now that has to be the best idea yet!

You can have your beer because I quit drinking after two DUI's (Driving Under the Influence) within 30 days of each other,  therefore breaking my probation, costing me $13,500.00 in fines, an untold number of days in L.A. County Jail with some of the most disrespected and inhumane officers of the law you would ever want to meet (The Law Dog at his worst - they love to speak and physically abuse their power on inmates and get away with it) as well as some of the most famous Los Angeles County gangmembers you would ever want to sleep next to at night, 40 Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings, 6 months of Driver Benefits Meetings, my Drivers License was suspended for 4 and a half years, I was on probation for 3 years and oh, I almost forgot!  During this eventful time in my life - I lost my job because of it.  So, I asked myself, do I want to go through any of this again for, "I'm gonna have just one beer"? Not only NO - but Hell No!!
I've since taken up "Root Beer" and building stompboxes!
But, when I did drink it was beer in a glass bottle only!  Aluminum cans make the beer taste like crap!

Go to a hobby shop. Look for Evergreen sheet plastic. Plastruct makes it as well, but Evergreen is better, I feel. They make different thicknesses in clear or white.

Thanks Rodgre!  This looks like a good source to fit my purpose.  I appreciate it.

Sometimes I can get a big flat piece of theft preventive clear plastic, that came off of some new item.

There's plastic sheet used for doing laser prints for overhead projectors.   I'd contact a laser printing service they will probably have some - a 100 sheet is going to too much.

Hobby Lobby or Michael's will have what you are looking for...  they also have some thin foam sheets in various colors that do the job nicely.

The weight of that is probably close to the weight used by Boss.
Thanks.

For a while, I was using the plastic that came from an apple repaired Laptop, it came back
shrouded in the stuff, which was also slightly "sticky" great to attach to the inside of hammond
bottom plates !
Now I'm using the plastic from a new 19inch flat screen monitor  :D
Hobby stores are a good idea, they also sell thin rubber foam sheeting, which work well too.
I think its for kids, called "Funky foam" in several colours ... or just black !

Hobby shops sell a very heavy adhesive film labeled as "chassis protectors" for rc cars that works great for the backs of Hammond type boxes.  It's rather spendy though.  There is also a clear film used to protect the bottom of snowboards.  It's very similar - a little bit thinner - and I've heard it's cheap.

I also use neoprene which is sold in cheap sheets in the crafts department at Wal-Mart or Michael's as Foamies. I personally use that more than I use sheet plastic.
