when wiring the jacks and pot to ground, can the three wires go to any spot on the ground strip or should they all go to the one point identified on the pcb layout? if so, can a wire or lug be soldered to that point so there's a larger suface to mount wires to?

also, are the two largest holes on either side of the pcb wired to anything?

thanks

All grounds connect together.  Usually one of the ground lugs on the in or out jack is a good place to connect the pcb ground and the pot ground wire.  The in/out jacks will automatically be grounded to each other via the metal box.

The big pads are just for drilling reference for holes for mounting and they do not have to connect to anything.

Thanks Jack

Being impatient, I went ahead and soldered it all up using the Beginner Project layout as a reference and connecting the grounds from the jacks to the ground strip on the pcb with two additional holes.

seems to work ok, nice dirty fuzzy sound on the clean channel
