Anyone build AMZ MOSFET booster on Micheal Allen's layout?

I've tried twice to get a AMZ MosFET booster to work on Michael Allen's layout with no luck.
Has anyone built this layout successfully? I like it because its so small. But it may just be too small for my soldering skills.

For both builds I get .22 voltage at the "A" bias test point when the PSU ground is connected to the signal ground.
If I snip the all but the PSU ground I get 7.75vdc at point "A".
I get no sound, no hum, no hiss.
With a 62k resistor in R2 the MosFet measures:
G .32vdc
S .22
D .22

I have tried changing the R2 value but can measure no change.
I'm using the Fairchild BS170 and have to bend the S and G pins around.

I think the 100k resistor next to the .1uf cap ( http://www.freewebs.com/loudnoise/Mosboost.pdf ) is supposed to be the 2k7 resistor. That may be why it's not working. Everything else look's ok, although I looked it over pretty quickly.

Not to self-promote at all but......you could build mine!!  ;D

I tried this layout and it didn't work either... Mark's works...

Wow, that was 9 months ago. Thanks for the bump  :icon_surprised:

I think you are right. Wonder why I didn't catch this, seem simple enough.

If I didn't raid this PCB for parts it should be in my dead circuit bin. I'll take a look for it.

It would be cool if it works because this layout is so small.
I haven't sized up Markm's layout but this one is less than half the size of the TonePad one.
It's a postage stamp.

I am Mark, right along side the 77' od 250 ;D

:icon_surprised:
Oh my.....someone actually DOES build from my layouts!
Thanks tungngruv, and $uperpuma, makes it worth the effort to draw these up and post 'em.
That 77OD250 is cool, I'm sure you'll like it.
Thanks fellas!!

The PCB I made for this has been stripped clean. Not a component left.
So I guess we might never know if this was the problem.
Sure would be nice to confirm this layout. Cause its so small. See?

I looke d a little closer and I noticed that you have to be sure of the pin out. Mine are DGS (in that order) and I noticed that the above layout uses the DSG pinout. So the resistor and pinout may have a lot to do with this layout not working.
