Which DIY boost/OD knocked your tubescreamer off your pedal board?

Not literally!!!!   ....but what build has replaced your need for your tubescreamer pedal?  I have a modded TS-9 but feel there is still an OD or boost out there that I might like better.  I'm currently thinking about building Jack's MOSFET boost or perhaps the Mini and MOSFET in the same enclosure.
builds completed: boutique fuzz, rangemaster, BSIAB2, PT-80, Tonepad wah, Ross Comp, Axis Fuzz, MOSFET boost, Thunderchief, Big Muff (triangle), Mr. EQ, Dr. Boogey,  Neovibe, Dist+, EA Tremelo, ADA Flanger, RM Octavia
next build(s): ???

not sure if it's going to knock my TS9 off my pedalboard, it's been there for at least 18 years! but I've got a colorsound overdriver on breadboard at the minute and I like it a lot. It's got bass and treble controls that give a wide range of clean boosts and if you crank the gain up you get a nice distortion sound.

Never had a TS, never liked the sound much. I have a ROG Peppermill, Supreaux and Professor Tweed and use them all the time.

My M.O.D overdrive ... Allows you to dial in the right amount of bottom end before clipping and has about twice the gain ... for me it's the ultimate TS mod  :icon_mrgreen:

the layout is in the gallery as well ...

ts-808 modded to my taste is now my best OD.
1- I changed the clipping diodes for LED (this help remove the clean sound from the mix)
2- add tone stack
3- add clean boost.

but basicly that's an ts-808 still .....
not updated schematics is here

Well I had a Prof Tweed yesterday, and before that I had a Supreaux, a 16 and...some other Jfet sims...
All became noisy, misbiased or had some other 'debilitating problem'.
I have a couple 5e3's and with a Minibooster, or TS, or Ge RM, or alone, I have less necessity for a 'mild overdrive'.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Oh man, + a lot!!! I own an original Colorsound Overdriver that I LOVE to death...... It has always been on my board and won't soon be replaced by anything else.
Am learning something new every day here

My Tube Screamer clone knocked all others off of my pedalboard...

OK, not really. But, I think it will always have a place on my pedalboard. It's hard to beat it for a classic overdrive sound.  :icon_wink:

I used to use a ts-9, but wasn't ever satisfied... now I can't live without my RM. I added Keeley's tone pot per his beano boost, which is allows me to dial in the right amount of high end and gain. Sometimes I run it into my heavily modded bluesdriver for extra harmonics and general thickness. Cuts right through the mix!!

my 28 year old big muff pi hasn't been knocked off my board yet, although I have never had a TS.
just because of all of the hype I am trying to build a TS or change a SD-1 into a TS. I have a couple of JRC4558D's from that era.
Maybe it will/won't make the cut.....
