Hi,
Where do you guys start when you create your layouts ?
I used to start from the input of the schematic but I was just thinking I could also start from the heart of it to see if there's a difference  :icon_rolleyes:

What sort of layout do you want to do?
PCB? Vero? Perf?

Oops  :icon_redface: , I'm talking about layouts for stripboard

I haven't done layouts for stripboard but I have done a number for perfboard. If the circuit has op amps I always work out from the op amps. Unfortunately the physical location of the op amp pins doesn't match the way they are on the schematic not to mention that dual op amps are close to each other on the layout but not necessarily on the schematic.

Circuits with only transistors can usually be laid out pretty much the way they are on the schematic. I usually start at the input and work toward the output.

I don't have RG's book on circuit layout but if you can get one I bet it would answer most of your questions.
