Can the Mosfet Boost drive a speaker?

Small signal MOSFETs are a little small for driving a speaker but you could always try building one with IRF511s or some other power MOSFET. I think you're better off with two stages or more.

Here's a power stage: http://sound.westhost.com/project101.htm and here's another: http://sound.westhost.com/project83.htm

ANYTHING can drive a speaker. The question is - what kind of result do you get?

F'rinstance:
1. When this drives a speaker, is it loud enough to hear? OK, how loud?
2. When this drives a speaker, does it destroy the speaker?
3. When this drives a speaker, does either it or the speaker burn up?

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Those links are interesting, probably a little too complicated for me at this point. I was thinking of doing this 1st Stage AMZ Mosfet Boost-->EQ-->2nd Stage AMZ Mosfet Boost do you think that might work? What about if I were to power it (AMZ Mosfet Booster) with 18v. Would this make it louder, or cause any problems?

I didn't mean this as a troubleshoot. I haven't built anything yet, just asking before I start anything. To clarify things a bit better; I'm wondering if the AMZ Mosfet Booster could be powerful enough to push a speaker (to be able to hear it would be ideal!).

If you want a small amp capable of driving a speaker, try an LM386 design. There are plenty of them around.

Can the Mosfet Boost drive a speaker?

Not the stock circuit as originally designed.

I have worked on a revised version that can drive headphones and will get around to publishing it one day.

Well, that's a shame. From the reviews and circuit explanation it sounded perfect.
What about powering two in series with a 18v power supply, any chance that'd work?
By the way thanks for the reply nice to get information from the maker of the circuit and the headphone schematic will definately be interesting.
