It works!  Thanks Mark Hammer and Oliver Alex!

Here's another link to Aron's Gallery:

A build pic is on the other first post link.  I didn't have TL074's handy so I subbed one TL064 and oneTL084 - worked fine.  I tried with a couple of  LM324N's (same pinout I think) but they didn't  seem to work.

Anyone know where I can still find this? I can't seem to find it in the gallery through search either  :'(
(I did start on a layout myself, but with two Quad OA's it's a bit challenging for me)

Mark Hammer

Thanks!  I'm going to have to try that layout myself.

Just for cross reference Mark,

this is Oliver Alex's schematic you posted back in 2005: (it's still there)

Currently I have this (most of it) on breadboard. works fine and sounds really nice. Can't comment on the noise issues as I did not wire the last opamp after the volume control yet. But I really like how it sounds and decided to make a pcb and box it.

Mark Hammer

That's the one.  I was really pleased with it, particularly since there was diddley-squat in the way of trial and error.  I just played my hunches about rolloffs, gain, and such, wired the sucker up, and it worked as well as I imagined.  Sometimes you just get lucky.

Is this single battery version the one thats in Munky's layout gallery? Yahoo is currently not functioning for me to check it out, so I thought I would see if anyone knew.

If not, where can I find the 1 battery layout?

Thanks!
AG

Mark Hammer

Last time I checked, the layout in Munky's archive was for the 2-battery version.  Oliver's upgrade to the basic design is intended to improve bandwidth and reduce noise a bit, in addition to adapting it to a standard wallwart supply..

Olivers update sounds cool... i'll have to do some digging I guess!

Thanks Mark!
