This is one of those common effects that no one has posted a schem for.  I know a few people have asked for it in the past.

I started it a few weeks back and finally cleaned it up this weekend.   Thanks to RickL for the output cap value.

There's still a few hanging issues and possibly some mistakes.  Sorry I run out of time doing an overlay.

Comments and corrections welcome.

(If you ask me this design has a few flaws.)

This little "blue bullet" was a much cherished part of my rig in the late 70's.  One of the things I was always curious about was the legending on the chassis that indicated a +/-18db boost/cut.  This is a fair amount more than what one normally sees in other graphic equalizers, the brunt of which will either have +/-12db or *maybe* +/-15db, but 18db of boost is a real rarity.  So now that we see the inner workings, was this a realistic claim on the part of MXR or somethng similar to having "11" written on Nigel Tufnel's amps?

> realistic claim

It's real (but not necessarily good).

Maybe that's why it was my overdrive pedal in those days.
