foxx tone machine build + switching Q

Just finished building the foxx tone machine, and I absolutely love it. It sounds awesome, I am going to build more of these. The build went well, one word of advise though - if it doesn't work check the most basic things first such as the volume knob on your guitar! I went over the circuit twice with dmm wondering why it wasn't working!

I do have a question about the switching though - I built it following the GGG layout, and wired the switch the same as this - http://generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/ftmpl.gif - but using a 3pdt with the centre lugs empty. How easy would it be to add an led to this switch? Would it require major rewiring? Would somebody be able to draw a quit diagram?

Thanks,
Matt.

hi andy, thanks for responding. I have used the wiring layout you gave me with good results on other pedals, but to me the wiring layout here - http://generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/ftmpl.gif looks different because the the volume pot is wired directly to the switch which is different from your diagram. That's what's confusing me - would I have rewire the volume pot? Or do I just wire it to the same spot on the switch and include the changes from the new wiring diagram? I hope you understand what I'm asking, my first post probably wasn't clear enough. I could experiement and try to work it out myself but I'm worried I'll never get it to work again.
Thanks, Matt.

Matt, the output from the circuit in your case is lug2 of the volume pot (Circuit out on hairyandy's diagram), so wire the volume pot where it is marked 'output of circuit board on hairyandy's diagram.  The 'Input of circuit board' on hairyandy's diagram is the blue wire in the GGG diagram.  Do the LED as also shown on that diagram.

Hi I thought it was best to respond to this than to make a new thread. I'm also doing the same thing, but I want to put the octive switch as a foot switch and to have an LED as well, does anyone know how to go about this?

Thanks!

With a fOXX Tone machine, try to swap the clipping diodes (D3 / D4) with silicium diodes instead of germanium ones and check out the sound of this pedal on the lowest gain setting.....

That is my tone to die for!

Little bump again  :)

Is output to circuit board the green wire in GGG's diagram?

Thanks!

Also, I'm using a mono jack instead of a stereo one for testing, where should I put the negative?
