Small Bear just got a bunch of new values in reverse audio taper 16mm pots, so I  started thinking about places where they are very nice to have, in terms of how a pot smoothly controls a parameter in a pedal.

so if you have some places where you've found they work best, tell us.  Here's a few to start off with

Speed controls in LFOs:
  Phase 100
  EA tremolo (100K works well)
  Phase 45
  Small Clone (1M)

Some Tim Escobedo circuits
Ugly Face - frequency pot (100K)  works GREAT
Idiot Wah - frequency  (100K works good)
  Triple Fuzz - gain (10K)
PWM - could probably use a 1M or 500k for the pulse width

Ross/Dyna Comp Sustain (500K) + if you add an attack pot, Steve has 150K reverse audio pots too, pretty fancy

Fuzz Face - gain (1K)

Rat - if you want to make the filter knob to be reversed, like a typical tone knob

*Most of these are using the pot as a variable resistor, so they can be faked by using a higher value linear pot and an extra resistor, but personally I always forget how to do that (ratios and which lugs to solder the resistor to), and in some cases of the larger values, you might have a harder time getting a 5M 16mm linear taper pot than a 1M reverse taper pot...

I have another one to add:

-Roger Mayer Octavia.

It uses an antilog for the Gain control. It's used as a variable resistor going from 10k to 0k (clockwise), so you cannot fake it by tappering.

Distortion+ 1M
Ross Distortion ( brown? ) 500K
Philips Liquid Drive 500k ( so also DOD 250/YJM 308 )
150k in a Rat is quite nice ! ( a bit of a treat though )
1k "C" is FF's are fantastic :D

The G&L guitars and their Korean Tribute nephews also use 1M rev log pots for the bass control.
A real pain to find a replacement for these pots...

BDuguay

According to the Electric Mistress thread, it uses such a pot.
Oh, and the Hot Cake too.
