MXR Distortion + output mod??

We all know the newer Distortion +'s have a wicked low output.  Most players I know who use them have the volume on 10 and it's still not enough.  I'm sure some of you have already done it, but what would be the best way to get even 5 dB more output?!  Thanks, happy easter...

it's been said here before, but the diodes are the place to really start. i recently changed the stock ones (germ. & germ.) with 3 germanium diodes on one side and 2 4148's on the other, and the output is much higher, and the overdrive is much more "broken up amp" sounding.
