I'm making a tremolo (tremulus lune) and decided to use the Photocoupler Vactec VTL5C2 for my cds cell. the VTL5C2 has four leads, two on each end. My PCB has only two holes for two leads. Which should go where and what should I do with the remaining? Should I just solder one from each end and cut the remaining, does it matter/affect anything in it? Thanks

It would help if you linked the layout/schematic, but from a quick look at the Tonepad layout, it looks like they have two pads for "CdS cell" and nearby there's what looks like an LED symbol. Your optocoupler has two components inside: a photoresisitor and an LED. You need to connect it so that the LED is oriented with the proper polarity, and the resistor is in the proper place in the circuit. If you don't know which pins are which, use Google to get the data sheet.

I have some of those..............the two long skinny leads should be the CDS (ldr), those leads are interchangeable, the two short legs are the LED, and one of them has a little white spot beside it on the body...that is the cathode, or negative side..............good luck
