or is anyone else who feels his design/name has been used
to appear on the big market
feeling honoured?  :icon_question:

well. that's no good.

the whole site seems suspicious... note that the brand name was mispelled on two of the products on that list...

........ and we worry about individual forum members building some nice "one off's"   :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes:

Some very funny "sperring mistakes" though !!

"we worry" in my case is not the one-off building by an individual,
but the thousandfold public spreading of the inner "secrets" by an ignorant!
(plurals can be inserted for those I-words above...)

alteredsounds

wow that is pretty lame!  Bet the build quality is shocking, then again those Black Russian Big Muffs are pretty damn bad too.  Still, the tube models look pretty.

Did you think that grabbing a schematic from the web and then making pedals for sale was limited to the US and Europe?

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

As Krusty the Clown would say, "Oy...".

Some folks here may remember the unpleasantness between Zachary Vex and Line 6 when one of the settings/modes on the filter modeller attempted to copy the Z-Vex Seek-Wah, but did so without seeking permission from Z-Vex or acknowledging it (and geez I hope that was cleared up because it was really uncomfortable and discouraging to watch).  In that rather sordid case, we were observing the interaction between two manufacturers, situated in the same country with known addresses and a shared legal system, showing up to the same trade shows, speaking the same language and playing by more or less the same cultural rules.  How do Aron, Scott, Jack, and any others affected even begin to take any action, or forge some resolution, on something this? ??? :icon_confused: :icon_cry: :icon_eek: :icon_mad:

If it weren't so irritating as an event, the bad translation would be very funny, for as we are all aware, everyone is searching for that elusive "plump" tone.

Of course the ultimate irony is that the people building these units likely have no interest in music or sound, have never picked up a guitar in their lives, and are paid wages of what is likely less than 1/2 the cost of Musician's Friend shipping such a product to you.  Ironic, isn't it, that two nations could be so close to each other (Japan and China) yet have such strikingly different atitudes to IP?

I'm from Italy and we've found in China this situation from a lot of italian manufacturing products (shoes, belts, leather products, ...).
But effectively it's strange for guitar products, because they are not so massive like shoes or similar...

Do you really think, they pulled the "Tube Zipper" schematic from the web?

The home page of the company proudly declares it as "an enterprise which gives priority to the research, development and production..." of its products.  Yeah, I suppose....if Googling counts as "research".  It would appear that

What is especially unnerving is that this is not some doofus in his basement with a bunch of 1590BB boxes, a can of spraypaint, and a soldering iron.  This is a big operation with a comfortable budget.  Just imagine all the contracting work that had to be arranged for to do the machining and silk-screening of the pirated E-H tube pedals.  Quite frankly, more "research" went into the physical production of these products (i.e., what's it going to cost us to make it this way or that way?) than into the circuits.

Double "Oy....".

Ton:  Gee, I wonder what tubes they use?

I quote from from the shaka pedal description:
"...The network can take you into a crazy world full of bestiality and give you a metallic music convulsion as well. Then you will find that it is the right Guitar accessories you wanted."  :o :o :o

not for me!!

crazy world full of bestiality

Wasn't that the name of Arthur Brown's band?

All joking aside...

What gets me is they didn't even bother to change the names. Then they claim all this crap about "research, development, and production". Huh?!?

And seeing as how there are no schems posted for Ton's stuff, you can see *everything* is vulnerable to being reversed by *anyone*.

This really sucks...

They must be counting on some name recognition from the forum as a selling point. There must be a lot of our chinese friends having a gander at this forum.

I'm wondering if there's any effective legal action that can be taken in this case... if Behringer is copying big guys and is still up - and they're in Germany, how can a small company in China be served by copyright laws?

   Internet's cool eh?
  Internet is a bastardizer eh?
I know I like to buy my stuff at the very cheepest price, regardless of who had to go to the extensive lengths to produce and ship and...[even if it IS prices 10x too low, I feel guilty...I get the idea most people don't, and there is a HUge Market for...everything ... if it's cheep enough, we're selling to humans their own earth...might be totally screwed up by the time we get to it though].
Exploitation is the Key. Does it matter who and what gets exploited when money and profit are the only things that matter?
THis IS so OT it is rediculous.

Yer about starting me up again on politics, money and inhumanity again here...'bout time I'd say.
