Control pot for LDR in morley wah wah

The schematic here doesn't show a control pot. I know the LDR resistance is shifted by the LED L4 but what is controling L4?

Also, is L5 a status indicator?

I think there's nothing controlling R4, there's a shutter between the LDR and the Led.

Ah! pretty sneaky. No inductor AND not control pot! I didn't think about shutter idea.  Thanks!
