Tonebender bias pot---very easy one, I just want to verify. (Also small vol Q)

I assume I'd just replace the 18k resistor above Q3 with a 25k linear pot, is that right?  Alternatively could I do something like use a 13k resistor and a 10k pot in series, correct? 

One more thing I just noticed, on the parts list for that pedal it says it should use all linear pots...why?  Shouldn't the volume be audio/log?

When I was building my custom Bender (Boutique Bender with tightness mod from the Tone Burner), I tried that mod and in fact changing the 18k R for a trimpot didn't do anything.
What I did was to replace the 500k trimpot (boutique bender on GGG) for a pot. It acts like a bias control, so you can change the texture of the fuzz.
You might also want to try different values for the input cap. I put a rotary switch with 10 different caps. I now have some great treble booster sounds, and cool ODs too.

I really recommend this type of fuzz; I was thinking about giving up with DIY fuzzes after many so-so builds .
Parts are easily available, no transistors biasing needed and it sounds great.
