Next effect?

I am thinking of something for my next effect.  I have built a fuzz pedal and a shaka tube, as well as an AX84 P1ex.  I am now conisdering something aside from distortion and amps; more specifically the Rebote delay, a chorus pedal, or a tremolo pedal from the tonepad website.   I was just wondering how a Rebote delay pedal from tonepad would compare to a storebought delay in terms of price and quality.  I have alot of left over parts from my last projects, and i priced the remaining parts to be under 50.00 USD.  I am not sure what to build.  If anyone has any recommendations or advice i would appreciate it!

Heres another vote for the PT-80.

What do yo want it for?  Is there any particular "gap" in your rig that needs filling? (we know what you've built, but not what you *have*).  Is there any particular area you would like to learn more about?  Is there a desire to give your playing style a whack on the side of the head?

The Phase45 is great and it sounds so sweet and vintage... (I've already done 6 for me and some friends!!!).

I'm planning to do a Rebote Delay: recently I've modified a Boss DD-3 delay and I was impressed by the analog & vintage sound it produces now. So I would try to experiment with the Rebote.

The Tonepad Dynacomp compressor is another good cloning project.

Well, I play mostly with my fender hot rod delux amp, and I have 2 distortion effects.  Thats about all, so there is a big hole that could use filling with something - anything - other than distortion.  I like the sound of delays, and ive played through some cool chorus effects.  I listend to some sound clips of the phase 45, and i like what i hear.  Im thinking about ordering parts for both.  I am still having thoughts about the rebote though.  Can anyone tell me how it compares to a nice commercial delay pedal?  I really know nothing about them, but im not sure if i want to spend time and parts on it if I will just end up buying a good one a couple months down the road.
Thanks for the replies!

Ah! i just checked out the PT-80.  Can anyone tell me the differences between this and the rebote delay?

Instead of a Rebote, buy yourself a Danelectro Fab Echo for $15-20.  It contains the same delay chip found in the Rebote and PT-80, except that it is set at a fixed delay time in order to save money on pots (when you're making a $15 pedal using a chip that costs a few dollars, you have to save money somewhere, right?).  You can easily install that 3rd pot yourself and go from echoless to echo-equipped in a short interval.  Then you can save your patience, money, and time for other things.

A chorus, tremolo, phaser or other modulation pedal is a nice thing to have.  The tremolo will likely require the least outlay, financially, and involve less setup and troubleshooting.  The EA Tremolo or old E-H Pulsar are both good places to start.  Many folks here have built them and can talk you through your own attempt with authority.

I built the Tremulus Lune using the tonepad layout and I love it.  I have been showing it off to all my friends... now I have to build more :)  Commonsound has a lot of cool add-ons for this one, too.  A phaser might be fun, though...
