Popping in Ruby, any idea?

I'm getting popping noises in my Ruby (and the gain knob doesn't really seem to give any gain) but otherwise it does what it's supposed to do. I'm a little disappointed so hopefully something in my build just went wrong. I'd liked to have a little more gain on it for some more distorted tones.
