Hi all,
I'm sure this has been covered at some point, and I briefly did a search but didn't come up with anything right away, but......
Is there a way to add a tone control to the MXR Dist+ (aka DOD 250) circuit?
Thanks,
- Buck

Simplest, and least problematic way is this:    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/mhammer/SWTC.gif

I actually tacked this onto my Dist+ and it works like a charm.  I'd recommend having a 50k pot if you use a 10k tone pot, and a 100k volume pot if you use a 25k tone pot.  You could use a 5k pot, I suppose, but the cap would need to be big.  The 10k/50k combo is probably optimal.

You CAN use a Big Muff type of tone control, but the passive loss will be larger.  The advantage of the SWTC is that you get only a small amount of signal loss, and fairly constant volume across a variety of tone settings.
