whythisreason?

I'm out to tame the high end a bit on my MXR Micro amp so it
doesn't get to trebley when I switch it on.
Could I simply use a signal->resistor->cap->ground for this?
(like a passive tone pot on a guitar rolled a bit back)
Or is there a more elegant or simpler way to go about.
Any suggestions apprieciated!

I would do that.
Because you are trying to 'cut' something so you don't care about a loss. And it is simple and cheap. And the resistor can be variable.

I would initially just try  signal>cap>ground and very small cap values in the pf's like 47pf and going up to maybe 680pf because it might be noise that you want to remove not signal.

Someone else will jump in on this subject I'm sure but for me it has been the thermal noise of the amplifier that I wanted to cut without changing the attack of the guitar signal.
