Idea... abusing transistors?

so i was getting off of the freeway, and there was a homeless guy holding a sign. this reminded me of my friends/bandmates, who intend to play guitar while holding a sign to try and sell tickets. i then considered giving them my ruby amp, to make matters simpler. I then wondered if the amp would be hampered by the sweltering heat. then, out of nowhere, an idea.

What would transistors sound like if they were forced to work hellishly hard? That is, what would they do if they were biased to handle a LOT more current than people usually give them? would they operate in a leakier, germanium-ish way? would they die faster? is it even worth trying?

input would be cool...

With BJTs, gain tends to drop off with largish collector currents.  Increase the current too much and it fries.

Sometimes it's 'worth' pushing the boundaries if you're driving a speaker, but only with inexpensive chips/trannies/circuits...

Bad for the environment, if you ask me, you should be looking at ways to conserve current...
