Which Parallel Universe?

I've just breadboarded the Dragon Fly layout of the Parallel Universe http://aronnelson.com/gallery/album17/PARALLEL_UNIVERSE.  It's a great pedal, most fun I've ever had with 6 components.  I was so impressed I went over to it's creator's site and saw http://experimentalistsanonymous.com/diy/Schematics/Fuzz%20and%20Fuzzy%20Noisemakers/Parallel%20Universe%20Schematic.gif

The PU story at http://experimentalistsanonymous.com/stuff/paralleluniverse/ says the posted schematic is from an early version.

It looks like the Dragon Fly layout is older http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=31332.0

Is it worth breadboarding the schematic version before I get the thing boxed up and in a pedal?

Looks like an occilator to me. How does it sound?

The fuzz factory is to germanium transistors what the Prallel universe is to LM386.

Is sounds great, not only on guitar but bass too.

it's a great sounding circuit. the oscillation mode is great.

i wish it was possible to add an envelope like the ugly face one
to the osc in the parallel universe.

An envelope filter would be interesting.  An expression pedal wired in there would be even more fun. 

As Nelson says, the PU sounds like the Fuzz Factory.  Overall I prefer the sound of the FF.
