Yes indeed, nice job :icon_exclaim:
I wish you the best of luck. This is just a hobby for me but,
if you can make a go of it, do it and best of luck :icon_exclaim:

HS, I wish you the best of success :icon_biggrin:. Your focus on using new circuits and not clones resonates with me and your samples sound great! 8) 8) 8)

All a patent is, is a ticket entitling you to fight someone in court.
I spent 45 minutes talking to a lawyer last week.. that cost $600. (not patent matters, thank God!)
My advice, is to move as fast as you can, getting the product out there, and try to stay one move ahead of copiers. Works for Zach...

True, true, true.  The patent is also bragging rights, and that tax advantage thing, for what it's worth.  And I can dream--someday, a decade from today, I might get to sue Behringer!  :)  More immediately, the goals are: throw some new sounds into the mix, pay for my own GAS, and hear "my sound" on 93X.

Does a patent for an analogue circuit cover DSP emulations too?
I guess it depends on how you write it.  I hope it will.  ;)

The concept (and the sound) of the virgin blue reminds me of a circuit that I messed around with a few years back - a fuzz with a VCA.  I also couldn't find a commercial equivelant.  I wanted a bass fuzz that I could put before an envelope filter for squelchy synth sounds.  (Have you tried this with your pedal - could be another way of selling it.)  Turns out there are a few boutique pedals that do this (Chunk's "Brown Dog" comes to mind), but I also found a published circuit in one of those Babani books along these lines too.
Okay, I checked that out.  From the controls, I'm sure it's a different thing.  Damn, tho, I've got to try some bass--good idea.  Except my bass technique ain't exactly JP . . .  :)

Quote from: SolderBoy on May 07, 2006, 02:48:07 AMIMO your marketing blurb needs a little tweaking.  I tried for years to explain what an on board buffer does to various muso friends.  One evening between soundcheck and gig, after spending about an hour talking about impedance, roll-off, capacitance etc, my guitarist mate said, "so that thing sorta... puts back... what the lead takes away...?"  You need to separate your "shaking a sheet of metal" and "scooped mids" from your "switch craft jacks" and your wave diagrams.  Most guitarists have no concept of how their instrument works - especially the electronics.  Most would not know much about waves.  Perhaps put all your technical stuff on a separate link.
I'm trying not to go too hard on the "TURN UP THE 'MEAT' AND 'CLEAVER' AND GET WALLS OF INDUSTRIAL CARNAGE" kind of thing--not that you're pushing that--it's new, that's the point, even if the "why" doesn't get all the way home.  I bet that guy at least knew you were smart, right?  The "Switchcraft, etc" is obligatory, and why not.  The sound clips are really where the action has to be!

Hmm, just traffic, I hope . . . I'll check it.

Thanks for all the feedback!

That's great, I really appreciate that.

Just to highlight it again:

DIY discount: If anyone on this board orders a Happy Snake pedal in May and e-mails me a one-page critique of the pedal (length not critical), I'll send you a 20% rebate check.  This is a great place to get invaluable feedback.

I didn't really dig the Lucifuzz or the High Mountain Air, just really not for me but the Virgin Blue sounded pretty cool but as a guitar player first and foremost, and a very new hack at building pedals, I sort of agree with Solderboy. It just seemed like there was too much stuff I didn't understand to make me really want to try any of them. My only other tiny weeny little problem which I have highlighted in another thread is that people always post soundclips, but never give all the details. If possible, maybe include guitar make and model, as well as pickups, fretboard material, amp and amp controls as well as pedal related info. That way the soundclip can be a little closer to home.
Nice pages though, and some cool designs! :)

I really liked the explanations with the soundwaves personally. It show there is some thought behind the pedals. It makes me want to know more about wavefolders. On a lot of commercial sites, i just feel like an idiot, the basic consumer supposed to fall for the marketing stupidness.
"TURN UP THE 'MEAT' AND 'CLEAVER' AND GET WALLS OF INDUSTRIAL CARNAGE"  exactly that sort.

Anyways, it's nice to see someone building strange sounding things, and it's even nicer when credit is given to RG, Aron, the forum...
I also wish you the best of luck !

wondering if the batman`s ears horns smoothly decay from triple frequency to fundamental when the amplitude decreases,
and if there is a control to grow the ears and increase the chin of the face.

just been to the page for listening sounds, and complete reading:

If I understand you right, the "Horns" knob can do that.
