So after a year or so of DIYing and simple pedal repairs, I decided to move up and help a friend out and fix his echo flanger.  Just for reference I used the schematic on http://experimentalistsanonymous.com/ under flangers. (by the way thanks for posting that schematic)

The problem is the chorus and slapback don't work, but the flange and fliter matrix work just fine.  This blows my mind because the only thing that I can tell that is different between those 2 sections is all that runs off of C37(150pf) which is only a few components, the rest are used in all areas of the pedal.  The 4pdt switch seems to work fine, atleast slapback is selecting for sure because c37 should go to ground when slapback selected and it does.  The output (2,4,15) and (6,10,12) of CD4009 seem right to be pumping the sad1014 with the right data, but she's no good at the output, nothing except some faint noise.  I dunno where else to look.  I might have bit off more than I can chew, but I work on electronics all the time and always seem to get it working.  This one has me baffled.  Someone please point me in the right direction this pedal is too beautiful to waste.

I agree, possibly replace both.

Are these  ok?

They're expensive! Farnell lists the Texas Instrument CD4053BE for €0.57, to give you a comparison. eBay isn't the best place to buy electronic parts in general. Do you have other better options?

Hi I replaced the two chips CD4053 nothing changed.

Could be that one of your SAD1024 chips is bad  :-[

Not certain but, I believe the switching from the 4053s puts 1 or both of the SAD chips in the circuit. I 'think' that in Flange/Matrix mode, it is only using IC4 but, in Slap/Chorus mode the pedal puts IC3 and IC4 in series (for more delay)

You might try swapping (VERY CAREFULLY) the SAD1024 chips and seeing if anything changes.

Good Luck!
