insane sound pedal

getting into building pedals, and I am pondering somthing. If i just soldered random resistors and capacitors and random parts together, and then wired a switch and an input and output jack, would the sound come through all messed up and wild? just curious.

btw this website and forum is amazing.

im no giant contributor of information, but i can assure you that it doesnt work like that.

although it would be nice...

thats like adding random amounts of anything in your pantry, mixing it together with eggs and flour, and baking it. You'll get a lot of something, but its nothing really.

Yes, Sorry for the random quote and vagueness....

There are rules to building pedals as with building anything. Even making something "random" is a series of steps and process. It's actually harder to make something random in a pedal.
Read some posts here, look at as many simple schematics as you can and build your knowledge from there. There is a weath of information here and linked from here. Too much for me at least!!!

When you can build the pedal grasshopper...you will be ready to leave the temple...
