Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how are people building circuit boards with the pots soldered onto the board - either with PCB or vero/strip board? Do you just drill large holes in the board?
thanks.

Where are pots and jacks with pins instead of lugs and they fit in standard holes...

I mean holes in the vero board. I see pictures that show the back-end of the pot, along with the components. The larger part of the pot is sitting in with the other components. How are you embedding the pot(s) there in the board?

The other side of the board has the solder side, and the shaft of the pot, which would stick through the enclosure.

you can buy pots that have pins instead of lugs, you just slot them through the holes.

Wait a minute - I think I get it. You drill the hole in the board big enough for the shaft - not the whole base. This is the picture I'm looking at. I think I've got it! Thanks anyway :)

I don't think so, it's only soldered to the board, nothing else. Holes are large enough for pot pins, you just stick them in PC/Vero/Perf boad and off you go :) The only thing with this is that board needs to be perpendicular to enclosure surface, so you'll probably need two boards, one for circuit and one for pots.
