Hello all

I need help with modding my Boss TU2 tuner. Here is what I am trying to do. I want the tuner to be on at all times passing signal(like the bypass out ) , but when I want to tune, I want to mute the signal by using it normally. I could use the bypass to have it on and pass signal, but then it cant be muted .....Make sense? I want my cake and eat it too.

I know that this could be done with adding a toggle switch to kill the signal and having the pedal in the bypass mode,, but I would much rather just stomp on it to mute it

Any suggestions ?

thanks

psTo make matters worse,  I cant find a schematic for this either

no one ever

??? isn't that what it does, bypass until you step on it

no he wants to do something i always wanted to have, which is have the pedal tuner ON, but your signal still going through, so you are still able to play, and it will also still show your notes, in case he goes out of tune in the middle of a song or something he doesn't have to mute to tune, and between songs he wants the option of stepping on the pedal to mute the signal and tune silently, without having to unplug the cord and put it in the other jack...

I don't know if it is possible, it probably is though, and probably just a wire or two...

sorry i can't help, just wanted to help clarify what you want. I mean,..i hope i did,..

I use Don Tillman's FET preamp Cable to do that

An easier way would be to use a Y cable but it could load the guitar signal a bit if you don't use a preamp.

formerMember1 is 100% correct, I am glad someone understands my unclear post. Now the question is, how to do it.

thanks

Gilles C. might have it.  You could use a Y cable, and have one plug with FET preamp in it, or the pedal before could have buffered bypass.... that would be simple easy solution...

or just a Y cable if the signal loss is minimal...

Where would I use the Y cable? The tuner is the first in the chain. If I were to use a Y coming from the 2 outputs, it will either bypass or mute the signal, but it wont do both like I want it to. I dont see how a preamp would help with that.
