Anyone mod a T-Rex Mudhoney?

I wanna put a DPDT switch in and make it true-bypass. Apparantly it uses FET switching and there are only two leads between the board and switch. Everything is mounted to the circuit board and I think if I can break the hard line from the input to the effect circuit input I can rig it up. Anyone ever work on this or any T-Rex pedal?

I have a "Dr Swamp" pedal, they are not "surface mount" components, so it would be possible
however without a properly traced out schematic, almost impossible !
It uses electronic switching, but is very high quality and does NOT suck tone IMHO, so unless
you have a real problem with it, I would leave it alone.
Do a search for "true bypass" it's interesting, not everyone's favorite system, including Pete Cornish
and Roger Mayer :D
Having at least a few "Buffered/electronicly switched" pedals in your rig is a GOOD thing !
Cheap versions, such as the dano's even sound fine, just the switch/jacks physically break too
easily ...

I never had any tone issues with the electronic swithing in my Mudhoney. Being the curious type I still opened it up but quickly came to the conclusion that any mods would indeed be very hard since they have installed the PCB in a way that nothing can be reached (or even seen). The bypass is really high quality - the only problem I've had with the lack of true-bypass is in taking advantage of the high-Z input on my SHO when it's placed after the Mudhoney. And Mudhoney seems to have problems being fed by the SHO booster.

Very nice pedal indeed. I use it for lower gain distortion since it's so dynamic and responds well to playing style while still retaining an aggressive tone.

interesting marty, i will look into that.  i know, the Mud does an excellent job at bypassing, just figured i would investigate.
i will probably leave it alone, i would have to be cutting on the PCB to accomplish TB and it's a new $200 pedal so...
