Just wanted to let y'all know that I'm putting together a photo essay for enclosure etching in the layouts gallery.
Please give it a look and let me know if the way I am doing this is okay with you guys.
Comments are more than welcome.
Also, I'm not an expert on this method, it's just to show how I do it.
It's kinda my way of giving back to this community......lord knows you guys have helped me out many times!!!
Thanks very much,
   MarkM

I am adding more as the week goes on and with any luck, will be done this weekend.
I will try and arrange it in a cohesive manner so it will be easy to understand.
Basically, I am just photo documenting the process of etching the enclosure for my Mosfet Boost.
Please stay tuned..................

I'm updating it on a nightly basis, I've never done this before and hope it turns out informative for you.
This is my way of giving back to my fellow DIY'ers that have unselfishly helped me in the past.
Any feedback form the crew here is welcome.

That's a great idea. You're making me look lazy. I like the Round up compressor.

Hi fellow DIY'ers!!
Just updated my etching gallery and my Mosfet Boost is almost ready for the acid bath!
Please check it out if you could.
I'm thinking the whole step-by-step photo essay could be done by the weekend.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the encouraging words.
I spent alot of time the last 3 nights putting it together.
I hope the photos and descriptions help you.
After I had etched a few boxes, you start to understand what to do and when it's "done".

That is truly some very nice looking stuff.  That Compressor really showcases the potential here.

I wish there was an easy way to learn this.  It may have saved me 4 years studying electrical engineering  :icon_mrgreen:

Actually, the reading schematics and doing layouts is not that bad.  It certainly doesn't require electronic courses or anything to learn it (though they do help a lot).  There are plenty of helps on the internet for basic electronics.  It just takes the time to learn it.  Hanging around this forum and reading a bunch of threads will help you pick it up pretty quickly.  Read through things even if you don't  understand everything.  Read it even if you don't even remotely understand and are completely in the dark.  That will give you a lot of good questions to ask.  Just having seen something helps a lot later on when you are starting to put your thoughts and understanding together.

Seriously, it makes me think I can do something like this :)  AWESOME work... is it wrong to order enclosures just because?

Thank you for the kind words and, I am doing just what you said.
I have been reading alot both here and some "how to" articles on schematics and,
Some of it is making sense now, I have to admit, I understand + know more about it than I did a year ago
I relate it to music, It took time for me to learn music, it'll take time for me to learn electronics too.
Just wished I had started both when I was younger....say about 5 or 6 years old :icon_lol:

The main portion of my step-by-step photo essay on enclosure etching is almost complete.
I will be adding some more steps over the weekend to finish things up and have the "unveiling"
of the completed Mosfet Boost project.
Please give it a look if you are interested.
Thanks guys,
