I have all available layouts and pictures from many sites, but still Im dumb stumped.i know this is a pain in the ass.Maybe some day Ill be able to return the favor.someone email me ok?  edadmartin@myway.co :icon_redface:m

It took me a while to figure it out too, and I'm sure I'm no more knowledgeable than you are.

Trust me, you'll figure it out if you keep at it.  Use the layouts from various projects at GGG.  You'll notice a pattern.  Compare the layouts which use DPDT switches with ones which have 3PDT.  Better still, some of the projects have TWO layouts for the same project, one with DPDT and one with 3PDT.  Compare them.  Now look again at the DPDT layout for the octavia.  You'll see the wiring is the same as that other project with DPDT.  Now look at the 3PDT layout for that same other project and simply find the correspondences and hook up your octavia accordingly.

Good luck!

If someone can let me know how, I'll post an off board wiring diagram

Anyway, I just built the Octavia and had the same problem.   I finally found the drawing by searching the forum archives, but I can't remember where it was linked.

The wiring layout that I used (it works) with 3dpt, dc jack, battery and led is:

switch
top row L to R (1,2,3)
middle row L to R (4,5,6)
bottom row L to R (7,8,9)

top row:  jumper from 1 to 2; jumper from 3 to 8
middle:  4 to PCB ground; 5 to PCB input; 6 to output jack tip
bottom:  7 to flat side of LED (to resistor to dc jack to PCB V+); 8 to input jack tip and jumper to 3; 9 to PCB output

input jack: tip to switch 8; ring to battery neg.; sleeve to PCB ground

ouput jack: tip to switch 6; sleeve to PCB ground

dc jack (must be switching type with 3 poles): clockwise starting at big metal piece (pole 1, left side) - to PCB ground;  pole 2(top)  has two wires - one to the LED resistor and one to PCB V+; pole 3 (centre) - goes to battery +

If you sketch this out and post it, I can verify.

Hope this helps

Hi edad,

Here's a diagram I had drawn for the switch wiring which I thought I'd thrown out.

It shows what jeff g described as far as the switch is concerned.

Hope this helps!

burntfingers your diagrahm is different, you have 1 and 2 jumped.jeff has 2 and 3 jumped.the diagrahm i used 2-3 are jumped one isnt used .
I started this a year ago ,and after looking, I think I did the pnp version because I have a black wire from the dc jack to the board 9v-.Now I wonder ,there are electrolytics on the board and all the negative bands are: c-4 negative to the outside,c-8 negative to the outside,c-5 negative to the outside.c-6 plus to the out side is this correct? If Im doing pnp are there any other items that would be different on a npn layout? how about q1-2-3 what part numbers used I use there?
