Can anyone point me to a resistance/rotation plot for the ICAR taper? I'm working on getting a wah pot made.

Geoffery Teese apparently knows the answer to that one. At least that is what I gather from reading this page: http://www.analogman.com/kraft.htm

I have Geoffery's email address, I can give it to you you if you PM me. Hopefully, he won't mind.  :icon_confused:

Steve- I hope you figure it out. It would be great to have more choices from a reliable dealer. Now how about building your own halo inductors instead of selling sets.

thanks

I think I'm going to work this out by taking readings on some pots from my stock and doing the graph-paper thing.

One piece of this mishigoss (craziness) at a time, pls. My goal Is to be able offer to offer all the expensive stuff in one package at a sensible price. But it's a lot of homework even before I make the investments.  Stay tuned.

this guy has some data (I have no idea if this is useful for the purpose though)

and a bit more on the japanese version of the page:

I haven't seen that wah pedal pot comparison page before, and while it's interesting, I have some nagging questions - the most troublesome of which is knowing if the pots were really all starting and ending at the same place (in relation to eachother) in their rotation during these measurements. It looks like he was measuring the space between the rocker pedal and the enclosure? If so, then unless the pots were adjusted exactly the same way in each wah before the measurements were taken, then the results are to me inconclusive. I would question the results of anything other than something like laboratory test measurements.

In any case, it appears that the V846 pot is a linear pot from his description, or it could simply have been how his pedal was adjusted.

right, since you can make slight adjustments on the pot, so the pots he used could have been hitting a different point in their rotation.

Quoteright, since you can make slight adjustments on the pot, so the pots he used could have been hitting a different point in their rotation.

Exactly.  :icon_wink:

The basic premise is good, though. It just needs to be fine tuned a little bit.  :icon_cool:
