A good reverb pedal project?

I am needing a simple and good sounding reverb circuit/project to do. My new amp im getting doesnt have reverb on it and I really dont want to shell out 100+ on a good sounding reverb..Any suggestions?

try one of those behringers.  i've tried a couple, and you'll probably be really impressed.  i think they're $25 (if you can wait - http://www.bananas.com/productdetail.asp/pid_8330/productname_Behringer-DR100-Digital-Reverb-Pedal).  if you ever decide on moving up, you can't go wrong with a holy grail.  as for a project... i'm not sure there is one that doesn't use springs.

which leads me to ask, why don't you make a spring unit (http://generalguitargadgets.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=124&Itemid=142), then try to install in your amp?  it could work...

The good stompbox reverbs are all DSP, which is beyond the average DIYer.  For a DIY project, a delay like the rebote delay 2.5 can get you a similar ambient kind of feel, and in a live situation, it'll get the idea across.  Theres a DIY digital reverb project around called the Femtoverb which looks interesting, but its not exactly "simple", and has some surface mount chips:

Otherwise, how about this:  build a kickin fuzz box in a nice enclosure, and sell it for $100 (musicians with some $$$ to spend love custom, 1 of a kind stuff) , and buy whichever reverb pedal you want.  I've been happy with my verbzilla I picked up a while ago, its got so many settings, including a spring-ish reverb that I liked better than the one on the holy/holier grail.  But not as well as the real thing.

What amp are you getting?  I ask because spring reverb is relatively easy to build, with some guidance, and generally will be more useful to you built into the amp than as a pedal in front of the amp.  Remember you want to hear the sound of a distorted guitar reverberating, not the sound of reverberation all distorted.

that's a good point.  i started using the holy grail because my amp's reverb wasn't working.  then, i had to decide on a distortion/overdrive to put in front of the grail because it just wasn't pretty.  i learned.
