reverse polarity on capacitor

i just fired up a circuit and it didn't work. then i realized I had reversed negative and positive on the 10 uf cap. then i fixed it...circuit still doesn't work. could i have damaged something? (there is an IC in the build, that's the only socketed thing/only thing i could think might be damaged)

Yes, you sure could. That 10uF cap could now be shorted. At a minimum, pull it out and check it both directions with the resistance setting of your ohmmeter. Better, just replace it.
