In messing with pedals for the last three decades, I noticed that there is a surge of interest in cloning pedals at specific times of the year.

We're now in the "school's out for summer" peak.

Welcome novices. Come on in and learn.

By the way, go read everything at GEO first. It will help you a lot.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Yeah, something like that :) I just need to fix up my grades in one or 2 subjects (italian and geography) :-[
3 weeks left until the definite end

Other than that I just ordered ordered $400 worth of parts which I hope will be enough to mess around with for the next year or so :icon_biggrin:

definite plans:
-rebuild my Rat on a PCB and mount it into an actual box
-a Bazz fuzz with controls in a box
-Tubescreamer
-Ross Compressor
-not effect pedal related but my friend asked for some Knight Rider type blinking LEDs for his motorbike
-mess around regarding everything else and try out whatever I can find

That's alot of energy, directing it toward GEO and LINKS...should help dissipate much of it...

Noobs should also spend some $ and get these books:

At the very least, take a trip to your local library and sign them out.  I know what you're thinking: BOOKS?  What the heck do I need a BOOK for when all the information is right on the internet, where I can get it any time?  For one, it's far easier to have lots of relevant information in one place, where you can refer to it again and again without having to turn on a computer.  I don't know about you, but I digest information far better when I'm reading it on a page vs. a computer screen.  Believe me it'll be the best $31.18 you'll spend in this hobby.

I'll seize the opportunity and say THANK YOU RG.
I would actually buy a book version of geofex !  :)

Best 25 of mine...sort of. :icon_redface:

Summer vacation is here for me too.  We just got remarried on Sunday for our 25th anniversary and now that I don't have to spend all available free time getting the house and yard ready for guests, or shop for a suit and shoes, or chase down caterers, it's GO TIME!  :icon_biggrin:  You can see us getting pelted with candies in our back yard at the end of the ceremony here, as I try to shield my lovely wife from the onslaught: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/mhammer/Candyrain.jpg  To add to this, something I thought I would have to be immersed in full-time to meet a parliamentary deadline has been lifted from my shoulders by what appears to be political interference. So, I'm a-lookin for my soldering iron later tonight, and I'm ready to rock this summer.  Heck, I may even get to all those things I promised folks.  First on the agenda is re-organizing all that crap I hastily shoved out of the way to make the place look clean.  :icon_rolleyes:  I'm sure some folks here know that feeling.  Second on the agenda is selling a bunch of pedals in the local classifieds.  I figure a good starting line is: "My kid needs money for university tuition more than you do.  Buy my stuff." :icon_lol:

Thanks, guys.  Much appreciated.  Just note that if any of you should drop by over the next few months, there is the small matter of all these little salmon, egg, and tuna sandwiches left over, and the red pepper strips and baba ganoush.  Mary-Anne, the boys, and myself kinda lost our appetite for them after the first few hundred or so, so someone else is gonna have to take over the responsibilities, soon. :icon_eek:  Hmm, maybe if I e-bayed them........ :-\

Anyways, thanks again, and let's get back to summer plans.
